SA-DA-KO AND THE DEPT OF DESIGN

I woke up this morning to the hellish screams of our cats hissing and spitting at a rogue cat who had climbed through the cat flap, not the best thing to happen with a class4 beer hangover, but ah well this sunday and so I check all the usual SN messages and catch up on few missed status updates.

Then I turn to my email and low and behold my old friend Mr Ruauri from the Dept of Design has been kind enough to send some of the touched up photographs he had done for us.

I have to admit these pictures have far exeeded any of our expectation and hes really captured what we were after, in fact if your in a band, need a graphic designer or just generally looking to have a creative mind on board with a project I would strongly recommend this guy to you, just look!!!

Sa-da-ko & The Dept of Design

We are still hard at work at the moment in Aku Studios adding guitar tracks to the album, while J tunes up the old axe, I thought I would do a bit of an update.

Well to be honest we are running a little behind schedule, we are now looking to launch around Halloween, fingers crossed!! The album is really coming together and it’s all starting to sound amazing so much so it’s probably the greatest thing we’ve done so far and finally it’s good to see the fruits of the last 8 months finally coming together.

So that’s the audio coming together what about the visuals?

Well Tim from Dunloe productions is still working hard on editing the video for “rEd” and we are currently in talks about a 2nd video for another track off “zero one”, we’ve seen 2 drafts on the video and its all starting to come together quite nicely, we are really keen to show other people what’s been going on behind the scenes but at this stage I’m going to have to slap your hand like a naughty child!!

Other visual shenanigans, such as photos and a few bits of art work are currently being helped along by the guys over at the Dept of Design, in fact last week we gathered together all of our belongings and headed out over to a place near Churchtown just as the sun started to head down. The weather wasn’t great but I think it helped a long nice shoot and really added to the drama of the area.
Below is a selection of shots taken on the day, they are pretty raw and haven’t really been touch up yet but it gives you an idea of what we see before it goes to the next stage.
