Quick update- Album out weekend 25/26th May...

Sappnin?  As a lot of you know, its not long now till our album AWAKENINGS is released!!

Its been a long fuckin time coming, but we have a hell of a party lined up for you to celebrate the release with us, in the form of "Southport Metal Fest" where we have an entire weekend of metal for your faces kickin off on Saturday the 25th and all over again on the 26th click the link to find out more!

So 17 days till you get to hear it, theres some pretty good reviews comin in already so check them out, we gotta vid out for the track "Limit Of Resolution" keep a look out just after the album launch on the 28th May at the moment we just gonna tease you with the tagline #iamnotanumber expect some video updates soon, and be sure to check out our past blogs for more info on us as a band, and what we went through to record this album.

AWAKENINGS....

Beer, filth, getting lost, cancelled gigs and lost Interview notes

So I think it’s time to introduce myself properly; I'm Alex and as most of you all should know I'm the new bassist- what a time I’ve had already and its only been a few months! Already I feel at home with you guys the fans and Sa-Da-Ko.

Well two weeks ago I played my first bunch of gigs with Sa-Da-Ko the first one being the Ship and Giggles in Preston a place I've never played before. It was a great little venue and straight away I felt like a king, free beer and food took my mind off this being my first gig and also my first time back being on stage in a long while.
It was awesome, the crowd were really responsive and everything went to plan my Sa-Da-Ko cherry was popped (Something else had already been popped but what happens behind closed doors at AkU HQ stays behind closed doors) but the only thing I struggled with a little was these bloody shirts and ties! Fuck man they're warm to play in and I don't need to tell you if you've been to one of our shows then you will know its full on pedal to the metal we don’t walk around like wounded ducks on the stage, (I may just start taking my bass, shirt and tie to the sauna at the gym throw a few beers in there too just to condition myself and this, my lovely filthlickers, is what it feels like in them suits on stage!) anyhow met some good people there great banter caught up with our good friend Vicky and also a rather strange interview with a guy who lost his interview notes (yes I have nothing to do with this please be careful where you leave them).

Right since the first gig we have had one cancelled after turning up for it (suppose shit happens) and the other two were top gigs too. One in Wigan where I caught up with some friends I haven't seen in a long time, the set went down well and so did the beer! The only thing that that went down faster than a lead balloon was me misinforming Jim about a babies yed floating…. Silence... 

The other one was in St Helens for Deathwave Promotions which let me tell you was a very long day, not only was I hungover but I was still feeling the gig from the night before, to be honest tho once you get on that stage whatever physical or mental state you're in goes straight out the window and pure filthy adrenaline kicks in.

I've had a blast so far and the journey has only just begun! It’s been great hearing peoples feedback after our sets and saying that I fit right in, my only concern is nobody in this band knows how to get to and from my house and they get lost everytime we go home! (from Manchester to Liverpool to Skelmersdale  I can't wait to get out there and meet more of you at our shows and have a few beers with you all!!!

lead up to the AWAKENINGS release. pt 3: What processes did you go through to record the album?

Whats happening Filthbitches? Hope your all doing well! Since our last blog, the tour has kicked off nicely, with our newest member Alex on bass guitar, firmly in the thick of it with his Sa-Da-Ko baptism of metal on full tilt with 4 gigs in a week- he's defo one of the family now and we are more than happy to have him!! Look out for a quick blog from him on wednesday, where he talks about his experiences joining us dick heads on the road! We are all looking forward to smashing more and more venues in the near future, so keep ya eyes peeled for when we are near you!

Gonna outline the processes we went through this time round, in part cock shitting 3 of how the titty fucking christ on a bike we wrote such a fanny tingling nipple popping ball sack emptying bastard of an awesome album.... or, in other words, some techy shit about gear we used etc; hope you enjoy!

Awakenings was created first as a concept, with practices revolving around writing songs, gathering riffs, beats, vocal hooks, breakdowns etc. This took a good few months all together, before we felt we had enough quality tracks to put on an album. The album was recorded at the home of Sa-Da-Ko "AkU studios" on a Mac running Pro Tools 7.4 with a fuck off massive mixing desk- so you know it must be good! 

Gregzilla was first up, recording drums using a set of AKG drum mics and 2 overhead condensers on a custom Pearl kit, comprising of kick drum, vinnie paul signature series snare, floor tom, 3 rack mounted toms and more cymbals than you could shake a stick at, which he did incidentally, and he hit them too- which was a good start for a drummer lemme tell you! anyway, I digress... The drums were multi mixed using a mixture of live and triggered sounds to keep the kit sounding clear and natural. We opted for a tighter capture on the overheads compared to other records to create a claustrophobic feel and to accentuate that feeling of having the band right there in your face! The full 12 tracks were finished up in true Gregzilla superhuman smash style  over one weekend!!

Simo and Jay were next up on guitar duty, with Simo opting for a Peavy 6505 head with a cab his dad used to own which he loves for clarity and a dirty as fook bottom end. For recording, a mixture of his live sound, an Ibanez custom with EMG85s into a BOSS GT8 multifx for distortion and other bits crossed with a separate sound taken from a Digidesign 11 rack unit. Jay used a Marshall JCM900 head through the same cab, but with his Schecter Omen with passive pickups into a GT3 for distortion and fx, and doubled it up using the same Digidesign 11 rack unit. The cabs were all miked up using a Shure SM57 and all quadruple tracked using the different set ups for a wider sonic feel. Quickly, I just wanna give a big shout out to Jay Dean who has sadly decided to call it a day with us after this album due to work and family commitments, he  remains a great friend to the band and what a face melting legacy he left writing some big ass riffs for this album- cheers man!!















Bass wise, an Ibanez running straight into an Ashdown Superfly head was used. The signal was split using D.I. and a cab miked up using a D1100 kick drum mic. Once the signal hits pro tools, The D.I. signal was distorted using Sans Amp which brings out the highs while the kick mic handles the high pressure and captures the lows. Overall it took about 2 weeks to get all the guitars and bass down.

Jim went sick on the vocals using a handheld SM58 while Simo was on clean vox duty in the control room using a standing SE2000a condenser mic with pop shield taking about a week in total to record all vocals.

After all that was recorded, and between Simo and Greg many a long hour sat in the studio cutting down audio clips, it was ready to be sent off to be mixed and mastered by Legendary UK metal producer, Dave Chang. Dave took about 3 weeks in total passing tracks back an forth with us to create a polished album that we are proud to say is ours. Everything sits in its own space sonically, and sounds so big its unreal! Big thanks to him, he did a great fucking job!!!

lead up to the AWAKENINGS release. pt 2: What's with the name; what you all about?

Hello again! we are back with another exciting installment of Sa-Da-Ko motherfuckin facts for ya!

As we explained in the first post, on the lead up to our first full length album release we are doing a little series of blogs for you to get into our mindset, and hopefully understand us a bit better, know why we do what we do, what drives us etc, 1. to (hopefully) get you excited about the release, and 2. so when it comes out you gotta bit of background to it, and appreciate it a bit more...

So first up, the name. We for some reason, have a LOT of trouble with our name. Other bands get it wrong, fans of the genre get it wrong, venues get it wrong, promoters, reviewers, you name it... all get it wrong. Its not like we picked a really obtuse hard to pronounce name either, and its split up for you too- could we make it any easier... sheeesh!!! lolz!! Back when Sa-Da-Ko was a home studio project, Simo decided upon the name using The Ring as inspiration. The Ring is a 1998 Japanese horror film by Hideo Nakata. There was an American remake more recently  but that was balls, Sa-Da-Ko fact there bitches, anyway, the film centres around a cursed videotape, which brings death to all who watch it. A great psychic called Shizuko Yamamura commits suicide, passing her abilities to her daughter, Sadako Yamamura, who psionically made the videotape- and the assumption is that Sadako is dead and it was her vengeful spirit that killed the teenagers. Go watch the film if you wanna know more Filthlickers! Exploring the origin of the name, brings another interesting fact to light, Sadako is a Japanese name used for females. The same name can be written with a variety of Kanji, and the meanings of the name differ accordingly. So basically it means different things to different people, something which we try to do as a band, steering away from traditional "metal" names and deciding on something with a variety of meanings- meaning you decide what you want us to be to you!!

So now you see, thats the name taken care of, were not a number puzzle or any other combination of 6 letters, heres a list of some we have genuinely been called, either on the net, posters and programmes, and the worst being a Tshirt, although annoying, it has become a bit of a running joke between us and our fans, leading us to jokingly refer to ourselves as "Skidadle" lets hope this clears up the confusion, and people stop being fucktards ;)

So thats the name, what's in a name hey... Its the music that does the talking surely? In the Awakenings album, we cover a lot of different elements, which we naturally do as a band. We all have different tastes of music, and try and fit elements of all we like into our songs. Obviously a common love of metal as a whole binds us together, but all the different sub-genres too, and different styles. So musically you've got elements of Classic metal, Hardcore, Djent, Thrash, Math, Death, Nu etc, which is probably one of the reasons we do peoples head in, cos we try an stick a bit of everything we like in there! Vocally we cover subjects from apocalyptic visions, political frustrations, Folklore and cultural mythos, to my own misanthropic views of the world and other such dark subject matter- tackled from an almost hip hop style of rhythm at times. But essentially we are about the groove- getting your head bangin an the pit erupting is what we essentially set out to achieve. We make music that, we hope, makes you wanna go sick; that empowers you and makes you feel good! Music that puts a big fucking smile on your face, makes you raise ya glass in satisfaction, then turn to your mate next to you, put ya screw face on and nod appreciatively...

You can take it as deep as you want to do- If you wanna learn every riff, beat and lyric, finding the true meaning of the songs- cool thats awesome, you gotta dig deeper for that shit, but if you are just a casual listener thats cool too. We aren't about  writing songs so complicated, extreme or so impenetrable that no one knows what to do when we hit the stage, nor are we basic and boring, we just do what we came to do, and we have fun- That seems to be missing from the scene in general at times. Sometimes people lose sight of why they got into metal in the first place, and are so bogged down with tryin to label things and deem them "metal" enough for appreciation- So shut up, stop being a judgemental prick, crack open a beer an listen to some metal, LOUD!!

Right, I'm off to eat bacon, and perhaps an egg, cos I'm edgy like that.... Be back in a couple weeks where we will look at the actual album closer, and the processes we went through to develop it.

Sa-da-kO - Announce Album Release Date & 2 Day Launch Party

12/02/13 - Words unspoken...2 day bender on the horizon.

Right, let me start by saying that we've had a lot on the last few months and although it may appear that we have been away from the outside there has been a lot of panicking within the ranks,

Firstly it’s no secret we've had a few line up problems and with the departure of our bass player Bobbie and guitar player Deano we have been forced to evaluate things and talk about the future of the band.

Bobbie has had lot of problems regarding his wrist and it was really effecting his playing and Deano’s family/work life commitments have grown significantly this year to the point where he has been unable to juggle everything. This has meant that both lads have decided to call it a day.

It’s all very amicable and there are no hard feelings at all in fact it quite the opposite, we have become very good friends over the years and will still continue to do so however having to make decisions and watching our friends make hard life decisions has been one of the most difficult things we have had to go through as band.

I don’t want to dwell too much but both lads know that they always will be part of Sa-da-kO and its growth and that they will always be in the heart of it..

Right no more gaying about.......... (sniff I’m not crying I’m cutting onions!)

So, We have a new line up, this will be unveiled shortly but  more importantly “Awakenings” is finished and we are currently working on getting it out and about to reviewers, press and industry type folks.

We have set the date for release, and are having one hell of a party to celebrate, in fact we are putting on a 2 day festival in Southport on the 25th-26th of May to mark the occasion and why the hell not?

• It has a fair
•  It has takeaways everywhere
• Tons of B&B’s
• Weird drunken types everywhere
• It’s practically a festival site already, just add metal!

5 Bellends.....1 Camera

This week we've been trying to get everything ready for the upcoming months in regards to finishing recording the album, getting merch together and take advantage of gig season by getting our ass out and about.

We also managed to get our photos back from Phil, who had been kind enough to us as a project he was working on, Ive included some of these below.

He's done an awesome job and I hope to be using some of these in some of the upcoming promotions.

Getting signed- is it worth it?

This blog is pretty good but i thought this was pretty relevant to us at the moment. Hopefully it well offer some decent advice to up coming bands.

How to Get Your Band Signed without Getting Screwed

I had a very interesting conversation today with a CEO of a company that focuses on Digital Distribution and Music Management. He asked me “What do you think an Artist wants in a Record Label? And how do you not “turn them off” when you tell them the realities of the Industry?” I started to laugh. I have been asked this question more times than I know and yet, it still doesn’t get old. I answered without hesitation, “They want Fame and they want it NOW! When you tell them that it doesn’t work that way, they will ask someone else until they get the answer that they WANT to hear. However, once they live the truth, they ultimately come back with those famous words “You were right”.”

Artists are brainwashed into believing that “getting signed” is synonymous with being “rich and successful” and that it can literally “fall into your lap” by emailing and submitting to A&R reps all day long. (You just gotta find one to say yes, right??) I contribute this popular delusion to when million dollar record deals were inked and stories of the “rags to riches” artist were broadcasted across the country on MTV. Those days are long gone and are never coming back.

Nowadays, to get signed, an artist must go back to the grass-roots of earning fans. (You know, how it was ALWAYS done prior MTV.) The problem is, many artists are too lazy to do the work necessary and in reality, it’s not as impossible as you may think. The main key of getting a great record deal lies within the hands of the Artist and their Manager. Your band needs to be talented, have excellent guidance and enough clout (and following) to negotiate successfully. Getting to that point is the main challenge however, if you can get into the position where the label wants to work for you and not the other way around, your band will be golden. I am going to give you the best lesson ever; it’s called “Corie’s 101: How to Get Your Band Signed without Getting Screwed!”

STEP ONE: Make sure your band doesn’t suck. Seriously! This is the most important step and if you are wrong, none of the rest will matter. Sucking = Bad.

STEP TWO: Buy a van or a gutted school bus that can hold your band as well as a decent trailer that can haul your gear. Treat it well because you just purchased your new home -Congratulations!!!

STEP THREE: Book shows in every dive that you can find. (Five shows per week for six weeks is ideal for starters.) Keep the shows within 3 to 5 hours of each other, city to city. Ask for gas money (typically $150-$200 bucks a show) and if you’re lucky, they may throw you a pizza! Do not ask to play for beer -Your van will not run on beer and neither will you! The talent Buyers will take you much more seriously when they see that you consider touring a job and not a “rolling bachelor party”.

STEP FOUR: Ramen Noodles are the food of Rock Stars! Stock Up and learn to eat them crunchy! It builds character and fits into your budget! Do not stop at Mc Donald’s and Burger King for food, you will go broke. Stop at a grocery store and remember – you need to eat to live, not live to eat!

STEP FIVE: Play for 5 people the way you would play for 5,000. NEVER underestimate a SINGLE fan! Perform as if this show decides your fate and in reality, it does! If you play like you’re disappointed, the audience will pick up on that quickly. You MUST win the crowd! Take pictures with them and tell them that you are going to post the pictures on your website. Tell them where they can find you and how much you appreciate their support so they will come back the next time you come through.

STEP SIX: You have returned home and it is six weeks later. You are still broke however; you have met hundreds of new people across the map. Now, there is only one thing to do…REPEAT STEPS 3-5! (Isn’t this FUN???) It’s time to go back out and hit the same clubs and/or vicinities. Email and/or call those lovely people you met and let them know you’re headed their way because you haven’t seen them in over a month! Have them tell their friends and bring them out! If you didn’t overestimate Step #1, then more people will be at these shows this go-around.

After repeating Steps 3-6 three or four times, you should be able to branch out to nearby cities that are new but close enough for your new found fan base to come see you along the route! (Oh look – You have a following!!) Yes Yes, I know – you are super skinny from the “Ramen Noodles and Water Diet”, but chicks dig that! Once you are drawing some screaming fans, the girls will be offering the band to sleep and shower at their homes instead of using the Truck Stops! (Wow, you are slowly becoming a Rock Star!) Before you know it, you will no longer be the opening band, but the Headliner! You will be paid more and drawing a fan base that is loyal as well as NOTICEABLE!

Once you have hit this point, the A&R guys have heard about you and are sitting somewhere in the audience. If your pull is strong enough, (which is determined from how well you did steps 1-6), your manager will be in a position to get you the record deal you deserve and more. Maintaining the upper hand is critical; bands that do not, get quickly shelved after being signed! (Not sure what that means? Well, I will cover that next month.) Until then – Go shopping for your new home and let me know when you will be on the road. If you come to Atlanta, come see me! (I will even let you eat my stock of ramen noodles and save you a few bucks!) Just remember – being a Rock Star is work! If you aren’t willing to invest the time, no one else will either. So evaluate what you want and if being a musician is it, then get ready because the road is the only path to stardom.

Yo, Back in the room- if ya thinkin things have been a bit quiet from Sa-DaKo recently, fear not, we`ve just been mega busy with our asses up in aKu studio gettin shit recorded for forthcoming release "Awakenings" which by the way will be available EVERYWHERE from the beginning of august... you heard it here first!!!

We`ve played with them a few times now, awesome lads, awesome tunes, they will be missed on the scene, here`s wishing them the best of luck for the future!!




And finally, it wouldnt be an update if we didn't mention food in here somewhere we thought we would share our new favourite breakfast place- The Gallery Grill on Eastbank St, Southport... decent breaky at a decent price, including perfectly cooked black pudding, bacon, sausage, egg an shit WITH hash browns- and Jim was most impressed that you get a choice of white or brown toast!! Sa-da-ko Free Download from "awakenings" 2012

Ok, anyone who has visited Sa-da-ko.com come is going to notice a we haven’t been around much. That’s not to say that we have been lazy, decided to join the circus, won the lottery or sold gregzilla on the black market.

This is in fact to write, record, produce a new album, we announced this album was on the way back in September last year and I have to admit it hasn’t been easy.

We made a decision back then that we wanted to push ourselves on this one, to really have something that Sa-da-ko converts would be proud to own and we would be proud to create.

This is no mean feat ladies and gents; there has been genuine sweat and tears in the studio and just like any family we have fought, laughed and wrestled or way to what I believe is our best work to date.

With that we have made the decision to release 2 tracks from this album early on as a thank you for followers, facebook friends, twitterbots and the incredible people we met last year on tour but also as warning that “awakenings” will be a something that cannot be ignored.

This is the first track to be release feel free to download, share it and spread the infection , this is “change my fate”………….Time to wake the fuck up!!!

Zombies, Guns, Robots and Gore - thats the Sa-da-ko Way

Ok, its been awhile but its finally here!!

6 months in the making and a budget of £8.2 million, this video has been one of the most exiting things we've done as it combines all the things Sa-da-ko loves.

Zombies, Guns, Robots, Gore & Metal..........!

The video itself is based on actual events that will happen in the future and is the brain child of Mr J Raw, part of the team over at www.Mycho.co.uk.

I have to admit there's been as much of a drama bringing this to you as there is on the screen but we feel its been totally worth it. Well done guys!!!

Sa-Da-KO and the flasher

Sup bitches, back again for a quickie ;)

As you can see by the photos in the last blog entry... ha ha, "entry" ... there was a couple of rather superb photomographs, taken by Mr Darren Rowley whose company DRP photography can be found right here (Thats a Sa-Da-KO fact!!!)!!!

We found Darren to be an excellent photographer, with a good eye for a shot, and fairly unobtrusive while ya playin, not noticing when he was snappin away, only seein the finished results when back home, promptly makin em profile pics in some cases!!



Kent based Darren has several websites including a facebook, (obvs!) which showcases the different aspects of photography he specialses in, which is varied, corporate, glamor, wildlife, travel, portraits, nudes, model portfolios and everything in between!! his profile reads...

"Since the early 1990‘s Darren has combined photography with a passion for wildlife, conservation and travel. A keen environmentalist and active supporter of many wildlife charities, Darren has spent time as a research volunteer studying Humpback whales and Bottlenose dolphins in Hawaii and in the UK as a volunteer for Drusillas Zoo. Late 2008 Darren turned his camera to the ‘human animal’ and more recently corporate and social events."

Darren is obviously very talented, and, through reading the testimonials on his site, is very well respected by everyone who works with him, and we would urge you to check out his work.

Sick Ass Metal meets Sick promotion- The Metal Circus!!

Fuck me, its been too long!! It would seem we have been so busy lately, we have neglected the blogs, and for that I can only offer our apologies, and cut my cock off. So with that, let us begin some hardcore blog-age, like a Hadouken to ya brown star this is the first of a few installments letting you know what the dickens we've been up to recently.



As some of you will know, we have just been on a mini tour of the southern parts of this foul country, with our brothers from other mothers Subservience!! Our first stop took us to Gravesend again, here we were looked after/ abused by the lovely people from Sick Promotions who, definitely know how to throw a party, that there is a fact, A MOTHERFUCKIN SA-DA-KO FACT... ahem... sorry. Anyway, I digress. Sick Promotions are, as the name suggests, a promotions company, but a promo company with a difference. Several sexy differences actually, different as in fire. lots of fire, and dancing... POLE- Dancing, and poi, and burlesque, and a crazy dead guy as master of ceremonys, and burlesque... oh sorry I mentioned that!! But yeah, you get the picture, these guys and girls put on an awesome show, and work fuckin hard to ensure everyone has a good time, and judging by the smiling faces, I don't think many were disappointed!




While we were there, we had the honor of watching a show by Daniella Martin (Who has performed with the Circus of Horrors) ascending the Ladder of Swords, jumping on broken glass, lying on a bed of Nails and "Human Blockhead" which involves 6 inch nails and her face, Ill let your imagination work the rest out- this lovely lady is well ard, trust me!




Reading through their blurb on their website, i noticed that they give what they can back too, offering internships etc, which is awesome of them. Sick Promotions has been operating since November 2010 and offers local musicians the opportunity to perform alongside special guest and resident fire performers, circus acts, burlesque performers and pole dancers, whilst offering students and graduates internships and jobs at the same time.

We support unsigned musicians by offering the scene free to enter competitions, promotional contracts, recording studio time, music video production, radio play on MTM Radio and assistance in graphics and web design for free. We raise the money to fund these services through our events and agency performances throughout the United Kingdom.

Rock on Promo review of our sick ass e.p.

Aw hell yeah, hows it goin Sa-Da-Ko peoples?!
We are busy as hell this week, sortin more T.Shirts, makin sure the Cougar is roadworthy, fitting actual seats in the back with actual seatbelts, and ensuring the set is enough to flatten a few buildings!! And what's this all in aid of I hear you ask... well, I'm glad you enquired as to the nature of our industriousness... We are takin the "I see them" tour down south for a couple of dates, This Friday (26th) we are delivering a sucker punch to "the pig in Paradise" in Hastings, following it up with a roundhouse kick to the face on Sunday (28th) at "the Gaff" in Islington.



So as you can imagine, we are all lookin foreward to taking the Sa-Da-Ko slobber knocker down to a new audience, and also as very hard workers in the music world ourselves, its allways good to get a bit of recognition for your efforts, and this came in the form of a lovely little review of our album, Zer01, from the team at Rock on Promo, reviewed by Roz Edwards... So, how can you get to this website and read it??? Well we have put the review in its entirety just below, but, as ever click on this badboy link, and tell em Sa-Da-Ko sent ya, and check out their other offerings cos its dead good and what not!!! :)

When you think about the heavyweights of the local music scene, they don’t come much heavier than Sa-Da-Ko, and their debut album Zer01 is definitely a hard hitter. It doesn’t take long to notice a definite Slipknot influence, but as long as you draw the line between influence and imitation that’s no bad thing, and Sa-Da-Ko certainly have enough of their own style to pull it off. Not to mention some seriously talented musicians.

The album is well produced, successfully loading as much overdrive onto the guitars as possible without sacrificing all clarity of sound. Sadly the vocals haven’t fared quite so well: it’s not often you find a singer sounding better on stage than in the studio, and although the overall effect still works, the vocals might have been better left raw.

There’s definitely something satisfying about Sa-Da-Ko’s music, especially Red, a murderous anthem that never fails to get a pit going even in the smallest bar. With an opening lyric like “You never looked better than when you were lying in a gutter in a pool of blood,” you can either run screaming or go ahead and scream along, basking in the horror. At Rock On Promotions we think the latter is always the better option. Sticking with horror, Zer01 then descends into the twisted remnants of what might once have been a lullaby. Smother is a fitting follow-up to Red: if the aftermath of a brutal murder was ever expressed in sound, this is it.

Ju-On is another heavyweight with a catchy chorus, followed by Echo Relocation, which slows things down a touch to create a real sense of torment. Li features one of the most addictive riffs of the entire album, and Name Your God is a powerful closer. There really isn’t a bad song on the album, and if anything the biggest downside is that, at just over 30 minutes, it’s all over too soon.

Synthetic Ecstasy II Wigan Vanilla lounge

OK, so here we are again with another update on the "I see them tour", and this weekend, we found our selves in Wigan at the vanilla lounge. This was the 2nd time we have played at this venue, and it still has a slimy wall!! :(





Slimy wall aside, its a decent venue! You can buy buckets of beer and there's plenty of room to mosh ya little titties off on the dance floor! With a good amount of stage room, a good sound, and an experienced sound engineer, this made this venue less of a headache than certain other venues.




Synthetic ecstasy II, seems an ambitious beast to me, with 7 bands on the bill, Im amazed it went as smoothly as it did, mainly down to the actual bands themselves making changeovers as painless as possible! The only incident on the night was outside anyone's control, with our old friends Stormcorporation`s van breaking down on the way to the gig, causing them to have to pull out... gutted, hope you get it fixed and back on the road soon guys!!



All in all, it was quite a long night, with music styles ranging from rock to punk to metal and back again! check out the last blog entry, for a quick low-down on some of the bands we played with. I'm not going to review em all, because my mum taught me that if I cant say somethin nice about someone, don't say anything... with a mixture of out of tune instruments, off beat drummers, shades indoors and inferior equipment, (you gotta feel sorry for the sound engineer!!) it was a breath of fresh when Prototype Angel took to the stage, refreshingly competent in their style, with a nice bit of stage banter, these lads put on a good show, with songs taking you deep and thoughtfully down one road, only to kick the shit out of you with a sonic assault that you never saw coming, very enjoyable and a definite Sa-Da-Ko recommendation, we hope to share a stage with them again soon!

Look out for the next leg of the tour, Manchester on thursday, then Oldham on Friday, get yourselves down and come have a drink with us, it would be good to see ya!!



Just a quick note to end on, when we played, Jay fell on his arse. That was funny. Also, I deep fried a bacon sandwich today, my arteries hate me!!
