I'm currently trying to move this blog over to our new site, I'm already displaying about the last 5 pages on the blog tabs but i want more, a lot more.
Over the last few years some of you may know I've been working in SEO or flirting with it really but I'm finding more and more of it interesting in relation to marketing my band and merch etc, I have done a number of marketing posts in this blog on how to help people market their band better on the web but I wanted to do something different with our webstore.
In essence I'm trying to integrate this blog our store, this will allow us to mider more about what we are upto and relate these to bits of merch and events that we have on our site.
You can do this using Java script widget which I use at the moment from https://www.rssinclude.com/ its free but allows me to fire info from here directly to www.sa-da-ko.com on any page I want. The bad news is that google will only read the widget code and not the information I have inputted in my blog, so in essence my blog is associated by link and not by content. its not bad but I want more google power!!!
So how do I embed this information, well Ive looked into a few options including a bit of code that I couldn't get my head round that embeds the RSS feed but I may have found the answer. if anyone has tried to do this before let me know.
My aim is to use an extension for opencart (our webstore platform) and use a blog extension this will give me what I need if I can just install the damn thing!!!
anyway I'm just hoping that I can move old articles from here over but if not I may end up getting all copy n pastey over the next year or so.
I don't know Im sharing this with you btw, I usually keep brain farts like this to my self but as I'm reading up on blogs and things I thought I would contribute a bit of bullshit to cyber space. I may keep you updated on this or might just do what I was supposed to and keep this updated with band news hahah

New Sa-da-kO Merch
04/10/12 - Dark things that Rise from the Earth
OK, were reaching the final stages of mix with “Awakenings now. This has been a journey and a half for us and a bit of a long slog but we knew when we started this that we wouldn't release something we wouldn't be proud of. Not only have we been working on the album, we've managed to put together a whole plethora of band merch, booked gigs for the end of the year and started the ball rolling on a number of music video so the coming months are starting looking really exciting for us.
Anyway we are at Manchester tonight at Grand Central performing with the mentalists that are Footprints in the Custard and Boneyard then we will be heading over to the Alma Inn on Saturday to entertain the weekend warriors, I personally have been looking forward to playing that venue for ages so its going to be my treat.
Right I’m going to have to go cos I always seem to write these while I’m supposed to be at work haha, just one last thing though our web store over at www.sa-da-ko.com is now active and as I mentioned we are stocking it up at the moment so there are some pre-orders available and you can sign up etc, have a look and let me know what you think.

Studio update part 2
SA-DA-KO IN THE STUDIO -UPDATE
Things are moving nicely in the studio at the moment and we are pretty much finished on tracking the entire thing so we can now move towards mixing the damn thing.
It seems to be taking forever and we can’t wait to start showing off some of the new tracks.
The good news is we seemed to have upped our game tremendously from a writing point of view and there’s moments of pure brutality intertwined with dark moments of tranquillity, I’m getting all fuking emo now but anyway heres a vlog update of what we’ve been up to this week

Building a Better Website
Improving our current website.
I'm current trying to build a much better website at the moment,I think the time has come to step away from the blogger platform I was using before and have a bit of a home hub for everything.
Don't worry if you visit this feed as I will still be updating and posting info on the full site.
There will be options to buy merch as well as the usual gaggle you find on web site. Stop by and take a look www.sa-da-kO.com

Sa-da-kO Broken by Bloodstock
Back from Bloodstock and Broken!!!
And what a
weekend, cracking whether, cracking music and the chance to play on the new
blood stage
.
Particular
highs for us were wrapping Jim in black shrink wrap, the bloodstock audience customizing my shoes, catching Behemoth, eating an ice-cream while watching mayhem
and winding up a stoned individual we christened captain Kursh.
"my name is Treacle and I've been bad" |
Does that say "I am a Peedo"? |
From a show point of view, the feedback we’ve had back
so far has been unbelievable!!
It will be interesting to see some more of this roll in over the coming weeks.
One journalist was caught tweeting.....
“Sa-da-ko = British
Streetwise version of Lamb of god – #heavyfuckinmetal #brilliant”
And another chap.......
“@sadako01 “still my personal Favorite out of the 39
bands on the new blood stage”
I know we
have send a few thank you’s around already but we would like to thank in
particular Vicky Bradley (AKA the Angel of Metal) for continuing support and
hard work during our time away.
You will
probably notice over the coming weeks a whole bucket load of interviews dotted
about the interweb with unsuspecting members of the metal press, we had a lot
of fun torturing the poor fools who had the misfortune to get into a conversation
with us and hope we get the opportunity to do it again.
So whats next??
Seems to be
the question of the hour for Sa-da-ko but don’t worry we aren’t going anywhere,
our next show will be a homecoming party this Saturday in Southport and then it
will be heads down as we finish up this record.
We’ve already
been putting our contacts to some good use by building a UK tour up for the end
of the year but if you would like contact Sa-da-kO for a future show or just want to spam us with Viagra
emails please do so at Sickassmetal@gmail.com

Southport Metal Fest - A Round Up
Its been nearly a week since we held our own metal fest in Southport and I know I said a thank you to people personally but I really wanted to say a massive thanks again to everyone that attended and all the organisers involved in keeping the day moving.
Reports back from the festival have been great, the venue were happy with over 200 people in attendance and the standard of the bands has set the bar high. so much so I'm currently under pressure to put together another one. I'm hoping to include bands from surrounding areas and really build a scene in our home town as well as include some out of town specials along the way so if you in a band or just want to be involved you can join our facebook group and keep up to date with news of upcoming events, just click the link below
https://www.facebook.com/groups/402132949835001/
If you missed shame on you!!! but don't worry you do have a chance to redeem your metal points by attending our next event around October time.
From our home town the lads started the afternoon with a set of original metal, combining a mix of heavy breakdowns and crushing low tempo growls the lads set the tone for the festival by wiping the crowd into head banging fury.
It was apparent that the lads were a little nervous to start however the nerves soon dissipated and you could see the lads loved every minute as they converted a lot of new fans.
Next up brought Renegade State, a predominately hardcore band reminiscent of Hatebreed and influenced by a lot of the american groove metal. They started their set with a whisper of Drowing Pools "let the bodies hit the floor" which then in turn caused the first moshpit of the day.
The lads produced a strong set on the day and although the band are still in the early stages of getting their shit together you can definitely see a bright future ahead for the lads.
For me one the highlights of the day, Side show have in the past worked with me in the studio and although I'm biased I find that the lads get better every time I see them. They were a bit nervous on the day as they were down a bass player but Jason stepped in on bass and vocal duties.
They may have been down one member but that didn't stop them putting on one the most powerful and fantastic shows I've seen yet, in fact although there were only three of them on stage they were able to sonically output more than some of the 5 piece bands on.
The lads had put together their set well by not stopping for air in between tracks which I thought worked quite well however my only criticism was I felt that this separated the audience a bit from participating in the show, if the lads had broke up the set into smaller chunks this would have given me a chance to clap my ass of more.
Pay for your Sins have been good friends with Sa-da-kO for a while and during this time we have seen a slight line up change. Ryan has only been with the band a short while but its really given the lads a chance to think about their show, think about their sound and return even stronger than before.
The lads had commented on stage that they had played at the fox n goose a lot recently however every time I see them they convert fans left right and centre.
This was there first appearance after a lengthy battle of the bands which involved quite a bit of controversy on facebook and it was apparent that the lads had something to prove and they did by totally destroyed the afternoon.
Not many people know this but Defeat Retreat are a local band that recently disbanded, before the band split up they were due to support Carcer City in Liverpool. They were kind enough to reform for this special one of performance at my own request.
Although slightly unrehearsed the lads gave an energetic show that projected pure aggression, with a mixture of djent and tech metal fused with low end grooves it is instantly apparent that these lads have some thing totally unique working for them.
It was a total pleasure to see the lads enjoying every minute and I personally hope the lads will return for future shows.
This was The Torn Princes forth gig in Southport, the Ormskirk lads are hard working and have spent the last few months touring across the North West. They have currently taken time out of touring to work on their forth coming EP and this was their last show for a while.
Their music is a dark mixture of aggression and speed culminating in a sonic assault which is unrelenting, not bad when you consider that the lads have only been together for a short amount of time.

Driven Overboard
Its been awhile since these lads have been in their home town, the lads have been working hard on their forth coming album and had pretty much got of the plane from a mega lads holiday in Malia just days before the show.
It was instantly apparent the lads were glad to be back and the crowd loved every minute, not only did the crowd sing along with all the words, they were throwing themselves all over the place which then culminated in a full on bouncing session.
I have to say it was a total honor to follow these guys and they truly did warm up the crowd for us even if Sponge has given me nightmares about his sexual deviance while on his holidays............Beast!
Sa-da-kO
Don't worry I'm totally not arrogant enough to review my own band but what I can say is that this entire day was a total honor for us to put together and it left me with a feeling that there is a dedicated music scene in Southport that a lot of venues over look or just don't deliver what they actually want.
What next.......
Well for us we're off to Bloodstock next week, if your there dont forget to pop by and grab a beer with us, we are performing on the Sunday and we are having our set recorded live by the same chaps that have just released the Devin Townsend " by a thread" DVD. If you can join us that would be swell if not don't worry we'll be back with one last show before we release awakenings but more about that next week.
\mm/ thanks again guys \mm/

Southport First Metal Fest 29th July
Some of you may be aware that we’ve put together something special on the 29th July.
DriveN OverboarD
We’ve decided to bring together some of the heaviest acts from our home town and some friends and have a bit of hazzaarr!!!.
Weve set up this event for 2 special reasons:
· To show case local talent
· Allow people who usually miss these shows to check some truly amazing bands.
So join us on the 29th July for own little Sa-da-kO fest at the Fox n Goose, Southport
Doors open at 1pm – please see this event
Still unsure about coming and supporting your scene???
Heres a few reasons why:
Defeat!Retreat
This metalcore quartet have been one of Southport’s top metal acts securing several accolades in the short time together, once quoted from one journalist as “one to watch”
The lads have been featured on Dune.Fm and a punk and hardcore show in Preston and secured a spot at Liverpool’s Mathew street festival.
Unfortunately the lads have decided to call it a day but its not over just yet as the band have recently come out of retirement for a special one off farewell show at our rock & metal fest
- Ashley Rens-Vocals
- Courtney Storer- Guitar/Backing vox
- Tom Jones-Drums
- JT Nolan-Bass
DriveN OverboarD
Driven Overboard have created a core fan base locally and through the UK thanks to constant touring and hard work, recently the lads have taken a break from the road to record their debut album at Southport’s Aku studios and the lads are very near completion.
Their performance at this year’s festival is very anticipated as the lads haven’t played locally for some time and as they’ve said themselves “we will be returning back from Malia days before the show after banging hoes and drinking French Biere!! Overboard will be fully-charged, horny and ready to put on a hardcore set to make you moist let do it Sowie!”
- Lewis - ( Drums/lead vox)
- Fordy ( guitars / vox)
- Sponge ( bass / vox )
As relatively new band to the area Renegade state are ready to take the stage, unfortunately their debut gig was cut short so the lads have been eager to prove a point ever since.
The lads are ready, are you?
Check out Renegade State and witness their debut with us on the 29th July
- Members; Phil Berrington - Drums,
- Joe Pagan - Rhythm Guitar,
- Tom Carr - Lead Guitar,
- Mike Bradbury - Vocals,
- Jay Owens - Bass
Breeding Violence
Opening our very first Southport metal fest will be Southport’s very own Breeding Violence.
The lads promise a brutal set from the off and this needs to be witnessed.
Get here early to avoid disappointment.
- Elliot Brown - Vocals,
- Tim Daw & Louis Davies - Guitars,
- Levi Laing - Bass,
- Shaun Aspinall - Drums
This year’s Band Royale finalists are back, after building a constant stream of local fans and support over the last few weeks, these lads have just released their “no heart no soul” EP.
The lads are a playing amazingly and they aren’t even at the top of their game yet, this is a real treat for people who haven’t checked the band out before and I would urge you to catch these lads before they go on to better things.
- Ryan Pennington
- David Mellor
- Dan Jones
- David Ashcroft
- Jon Foster
The side show lads are not only one of my favorite bands from Southport but they are fast spreading their name through the North West.
These lads are usually under estimated as they are still young lads but don’t let that fool you their bright energetic performance and commitment to the show rivals a lot of far more established act.
- Adam Linaker
- Jason Griffiyths
- Ged Teevan
- Patrick Hibell
It’s the torn prices 2nd show in Southport and after building a steady crowd of supporters throughout the northwest the lads have managed to team up with Little Panther Management and Snub Promotions to help promote their upcoming debut EP.
This show will be a good chance to catch the lads before they go on tour later this year
· Chris Moore - Vocals/Guitar
· Adam Gee - Guitar/Backing Vocals
· Joe Barcas - Bass/Backing Vocals
· Jack Mawdsley - Drums/Backing Vocals

Metalmouth interviews Bloodstock New Blood
The lovely chaps at Metalmouth asked us to carry out a bit of an interview this week as we creep towards the festival.
Most of us have been tucked away in the studio so we drafted Gregzilla to answer the questions and rep the band.
As well as us they've interviewed a fair wack of bands featured on the New Blood stage over the weekend, in fact it's acted as a bit of a nice guide to find out a bit about the bands before the fun begins.
You can find this interview and other bits by clicking the link below......

5 Bellends.....1 Camera
This week we've been trying to get everything ready for the upcoming months in regards to finishing recording the album, getting merch together and take advantage of gig season by getting our ass out and about.
We also managed to get our photos back from Phil, who had been kind enough to us as a project he was working on, Ive included some of these below.
He's done an awesome job and I hope to be using some of these in some of the upcoming promotions.
If you're looking for photos for your band, why not give Phil a shout on his facebook page.
Right I gotta dash, I have Zilla popping over shortly to do a bit of drum-tracking in, I should be able to give a bit more away about upcoming shit this week so I'll report back at some point.
Don't forget you can catch us at Bogiez night spot in Cardiff this Friday (29 June) helping our welsh chums [Ten Cent Toy] with their album release and throwing our bits about for the metal carnival
